364 Kingston Road, Pickering

DWAC - needs gardeners for two hours - Saturday, July 14 - 10:00 a.m. to noon

The photo on the first page of the website shows a 'Photoshop' version of the new building - 364 Kingston Road, Pickering (NW corner - Hwy 2 & Rougemount Drive - it still has Murray Stroud/Sherwood Hunt on it) we would like to improve the front garden. This photo was taken Tuesday, July 10/07.

  • If you are interested in gardening we are planning a planting day on Saturday, July 15 from 10 am to noon.
  • Please bring your own gloves, rakes, shovels, etc. as DWAC has none.
  • The soil is not great, drop by if you wish to have a look at it.
  • Gary hopes to start cleaning the bed out this week and if garden clean-up is what you like doing, please call him, he would appreciate help 905 686 1325.
  • Plans are to just do the front bed, but if there are enough plants and hands, we may do something on the side.
  • The bed needs drought resistant plants that can handle the full sun (south exposure - and DWAC has no hose or body to use one).
  • If you are into Xeriscape plantings you will know the best ones.
  • If you know how to get a yard or two of top soil and/or wood chips to help retain moisture and block weeds, please let Gary know 905 686 1325.
  • Let's make this a 'friendship garden' bring a few plants from your garden or pick-up one at a nursery, as long as it will thrive on neglect, and join the planting party.
