The Durham West Arts Centre is a 'hub' organization working to establish links with artists, arts groups and arts lovers. We want to meet and talk to the groups and individuals who are willing to help build the infrastructure for a permanent arts centre in Ajax-Pickering.
Jeremy "Boomer" Stacey Jeremy “Boomer” Stacey holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts, specialized honours in Visual Arts, and has an extensive background in connecting young audiences with the arts and an international reputation for presenting outstanding performing arts. Boomer is currently the Executive Director of the Durham West Arts Centre in Pickering, ON. He has been the Artistic Director of the Milk International Children’s Festival of the Arts as well as Artistic Associate of the Performing Arts Department at Harbourfront Centre in Toronto, ON. Boomer is currently serving as President of International Performing Arts for Youth (IPAY) based in Philadelphia, PA and Vice-President of ASSITEJ – Canada, based in Montreal, QC. Erin Michel Growing up, Erin has always had a deep passion for art. She pursued her love of art in University down in Pensacola, Florida, where she earned a Bachelor of Science, double majoring in both Commercial Art and Graphic Design. From there she went on to gain valuable experience in both design and art while working with various companies in the industry, including an illustration studio and an award-winning design studio. Since 2005, she has been managing her own freelance design studio and has had the opportunity to design for many different companies. Erin is currently complementing her degree in Art by gaining a degree in Arts Administration and Community Arts Development. Having grown up in the Durham Region, Erin understands fully the wonderful impact that the Durham West Arts Centre will have on local communities throughout Durham and is thrilled to be able to be a part of it.
