DWAC’s Summer Creative Kids Clay Camp! summer 2017

CAMP SCHEDULE
This all day camp stimulates the imagination and develops skills for children ages 6+. The camp offers working with clay lessons and more - with lots of fun activities packed into every day!
Each morning will be spent creating and decorating individual clay creations using a variety of hand-building construction techniques.
Attaching, forming, shaping and molding soft clay into fantastical whimsical shapes and forms.
Campers will also participate in daily outdoor activities, group games, assorted crafts. Campers are expected to bring two snacks per day and lunch except on Fridays, when lunch is provided.

CAMP ACTIVITIES
Every afternoon after lunch campers will be involved in a range of activities, including fresh air outdoor games, (weather permitting).
Participants will enjoy an afternoon of recreational swimming in the complex pool on Wednesdays and Friday is our theme day with pizza lunch, afternoon matinee, and ice cream sundaes provided.

CAMP HOURS

Camp runs daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Extended Care Hours: Available from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., one hour before camp begins
and two hours after camp finishes.

2017 CAMP FEES

Camp Fees Weekly: $205.00 per camper.
Camp Fees Daily: $50.00 per camper.
Camp Fees 1/2 Days: $30.00 per camper.
Extended Care:
Weekly Rate: $60.00 per weekAM/PM ($20 AM only or $40 PM only).
Daily Rate: $5.00 AM or $10.00 PM / $15.00 per day for both.
Extended hours must be requested and paid for at the time of registration.
Please note: Week #1 & 6 are short weeks and the fee is $165.00 per camper.
Camp pricing Includes all clay, glazes, kiln firings and use of studio tools and well as swimming costs, themeday lunch and treats. All applicable taxes are included in the price.

Our camp staff are qualified art educators instructing and supervising children and bring a varied range of expertise to
engage and nurture the creative spirit in each and every one of our campers.
We are confident that your child will enjoy their creative clay camp experience and we look forward to & welcome the
responsibility in leading them through this creative, enjoyable, and rewarding hands-on process.

ADULT FINE ART CLASSES CHILD | YOUTH ART & CLAY CLASSES

WHIMSICAL ILLUSTRATION
- Adult (18+yrs.)
This hands-on illustration course encourages students to develop their own drawing and storytelling styles while have fun doing it. Explore creative thinking, experimentation using a variety of media and techniques with ongoing projects, including greeting cards, wall art and collage, allowing time for students to create their own outcomes with classes focused on exploration and process.
Class materials are included in the fee.
Class Fee: $95.00 (6 weeks)

ADULT CERAMIC ART CLASSES

HANDBUILDING | SCULPTING
- Adult (18+yrs.)
Designed for all levels and covers handbuilt and or sculptural work using various techniques. Students will mostly work with slabs and coils. All students
are encouraged to apply what they learn and take projects in their own direction.
Clay and tools kits extra.
Class Fee: $220.00 (10 weeks)

POTTERY | WHEEL
- Adult (18+yrs.)
Designed for those with some or no experience, this class will cover wheel throwing, handbuilding and glazing techniques. The goal of this class is to provide the basic skills to enable students to start creating functional pottery.
Clay and tools kits extra.
Class Fee: $220.00 (10 weeks)
CLASS SUPPLIES:
Clay: $30.00/bag
Clay Tool Kits: $20.00 ea.

ARTISTIC IMPRINTS
- Youth (11-15+yrs.)
This class is designed for artists to explore a variety of mediums. Students will learn how to capture imagery using a variety of techniques from realism to abstract. Let your imagination lead you.
Class materials included in the fee.
Class Fees: $75.00 (6 weeks)

POTTERY OPEN STUDIO

Open Studio provided experienced artists and current students alike the opportunity to work independently on self-directed projects improving their skills and practising techniques.

Memberships available -yearly fee is $50.00 or seasonal (3 months) is $20.00 plus an in-studio fee of $3.00 per hour. Clay and additional tools are available for purchase from the studio.
Open Studio hours change with each session, call studio for details.

 

AFTER SCHOOL SCULPTING FUN
KID’S CAN SCULPT

- Children (6+yrs.)
Students will learn basic clay handling & building techniques. Projects to stimulate the imagination and develop hand motor skills.
Clay & tools provided.
Class Fees: $160.00 (10 weeks)

SCHOOL'S OUT HAND BUILDING YOUTH | TEEN WHEEL
- Youth (10+yrs.)
Students will learn more advanced clay handling techniques. Class demonstrated projects will stimulate and foster creativity, encouraging more independent study.
Clay provided, tool kit purchased extra.
Please note: All students must have their own tools.
Class Fees: $195.00 (10 weeks)
