The Durham West Arts Centre is a 'hub' organization working to establish links with artists, arts groups and arts lovers. We host exhibitions, activities and events at the Centre as attractors. We want to meet and talk to the groups and individuals who are willing to help build the infrastructure for a permanent arts centre in Ajax-Pickering.
Timbren Suspension Enhancement Systems Leads the Way

Ajax based Timbren Industries understands the value of the arts in the Ajax-Pickering community. Leading the way with a "Dollar a Day for the Arts" membership, Timbren takes the first corporate step to support a permanent arts centre for the Durham West community. "You are doing a good thing and so if it helps you in a small way that's great," says Timbren manager Neil Hodgson. Mr. Hodgson toured Durham West Arts Centre Executive Director Angie Littlefield through his high-tech workplace, showcasing the unique suspension products that are distributed all over the world from Westney Road, Ajax. "The holes left in the metal sheets after the laser cutter incises out the suspension kit parts, make the huge metal sheets works of art. Art truly is in the eye of the beholder."
The Durham West Arts Centre needs many more corporate sponsors to dedicate at least a dollar a day for the arts. "We want to put a shovel in the ground for a permanent arts centre within five to six years. Corporations can help make that vision a reality." A charitable tax receipt is issued for $340 of the $365 dollar membership. Corporate memberships provide opportunities for program pre-registrations, ensure invitations to VIP openings and provide various recognitions.
