Let the schools ring out with young voices reading to remember why wars are fought.
To have a society free of tyranny, prejudice, racism and genocide requires sacrifice; it did in the past and continues into the present.
Statement of Support for
"Reading and Remembrance 2006"
"Reading and Remembrance Project 2006: Holocaust and Anti-Racism Education" is a valuable tool for educators. Through the supplied literature and art, students will learn in a poignant and dynamic way about the immense sacrifice that was made to preserve freedom, human rights and democracy, the foundational principles upon which Canada was built. It is via these powerful media that the Reading and Remembrance Project will help impart to our youth the responsibility that they and future generations have to ensure that these values remain protected and can be employed to prevent terrible events, like the Holocaust, from ever happening again."
