What is DWAC?
The Durham West Arts Centre is a 'hub' organization working to establish links with artists, arts groups and arts lovers. We host exhibitions, activities and events at the Centre as attractors. We want to meet and talk to the groups and individuals who are willing to help build the infrastructure for a permanent arts centre in Ajax-Pickering.

The Three Silly Ghosts Tuff and other Halloween Stories at the Centre

Sunday October 24th between 1-4 p.m. story teller Heather Whaley offers a free program for children at the Durham West Arts Centre. At 1 p.m. Ms. Whaley starts with light-hearted interactive songs and stories for primary aged children. Heather features her original recorded story "The Three Silly Ghosts Tuff" & songs "Baby Blue's Halloween" and "The Visitor". One traditional story depicts a very bright little boy who tricks an ogre.

Children of intermediate age will enjoy the slightly scarier 2 p.m. portion of the program that still features lots of fun and laughter. Traditional tunes with participatory portions lead to a folktale from China, The Terrible Nung Guama. Seating is limited to 20 participants. Durham West Arts Centre members may pre-book seats by calling 905-250-9891.

Get in the Halloween spirit at 72B Old Kingston Road in Pickering Village.
